It’s important to give thanks when people doing something great — and the people of Ireland has consistently been at the forefront in opposing the genocide in Gaza.

But this page could just as well have been subtitled:
“Thank you, Mesopotamia — the cradle of Western civilization!”
After all, the astrology explored here was born in that part of the world, and in Mesopotamia it goes back at least 3,000 years — probably much further.

It wasn’t until very recently, while working on the map, that I realized:
I had almost been to Mesopotamia! This is the origin of what I today call AstroPolitics aka Mundane Astrology and less frequently Political Astrology. The mythical deities frequently change names, and Nergal below is very close today’s Mars.

This is a project—or rather three overlapping projects—that started in 1982, when I began studying astrology. I never became a full-fledged astrologer. I soon realized it wasn’t my cup of tea, and besides, I honestly didn’t think I would become a particularly good one. Instead, I played around, tested ideas, bought hundreds of books, and even read some of them.

This is a considerable chunk of the books in print when I started out in the early 80s. Since then, I have had to move to e-books. Not as fun or as pretty as a printed book, but considerably better when doing research.
